A delegation led by Ren Xuefeng, vice mayor of Tianjin Municipality, this
afternoon consulted organizers on the municipality's exhibition plans for the
World Expo 2010.
Zhong Yanqun, the fulltime deputy director of the World Expo 2010 Shanghai
Executive Committee, said the Tianjin Expo promotion week in April met with
overwhelming enthusiasm from local citizens and achieved its expected results.
Zhong expressed the hope that the municipality could take part in various
forums during the World Expo 2010, especially Expo Shanghai Online, a new
program on Expo planning and performances.
Ren said Tianjin has prepared for the event and will soon present its
exhibition plans to the organizers. The municipality would learn from Shanghai's
experience in urban planning and management and would consult organizers
frequently about its exhibition, Ren noted.
Tianjin's Huaming town program, a program showing China's efforts in raising
the living standards of farmers, has been listed for the Expo 2010's Urban Best
Practices Area exhibition.
