Hunan Province signed a national participation contract with World Expo 2010
organizers this afternoon.
Hong Hao, director of the Bureau of Shanghai World Expo Coordination, said
China is a country that boasts a long history and a splendid culture, and the
exhibition presented by the country's provinces and municipalities will embody
these. Expo 2010 will be a platform for China to showcase its culture and
achievements in science and technology, Hong added.
Liu Mingxin, deputy secretary-general of the provincial government, said
Hunan will make an all-out effort in its participation at Expo 2010. The
province will strengthen its cooperation with organizers, Liu said.
The two sides discussed theme development and other issues regarding the
Shanghai Expo after the signing ceremony.
